The "Midway" a small amusement park run by Mr. Elsie did a roaring business on Dominion Day and occasionally Ed and I made some money as extra help. There were shooting galleries, peep shows, ring-toss stalls and a merry-go-round which wheezed out two exotic tunes, "Valencia" and "I Married the Belle From Barcelona". There was always a star baseball game in the ball park with a German band from Dashwood to provide music.
