Mr. Luc Béraud, former President of Batiscan's Historical Society, ''Batiscan et son histoire'', describes the different functions of the community hall.
The hall served primarily for religious services, but it also doubled as a community and meeting hall for the church wardens and the municipal council. Finally, the parish priest allowed the village's notables to use the hall as needed.
