Common Norwegian Expressions used by Norwegian Laft Hus Society members at the Laft Hus get-togethers:

"Vaeresagod" (pronounced "var she goh") = "Be so good". This is what is said when you are to come to the table to eat.

"Takk for maten" = Thank you for the food. Diners say this to the hostess.

"Hardet" (pronounced hah dah) = Have it (good)

"Velkommen" = Welcome

"Til Bakke" = to come back
