EXPANDED FACILITIES -In February 2003, the federal government expressed further confidence in the Strait Superport Corporation by contributing $2.5 million toward a $5 million project on the Mulgrave Marine Terminal. Improvements included a 35,000 square foot warehouse facility, offices, storage areas, wharf resurfacing and a new secondary access road.

WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES - The Mulgrave Marine Terminal on the mainland Nova Scotia side of the Strait of Canso has two and a half acres of lay down wharf area and is open to a wide range of marine services.

ESTABLISHED BUSINESSES like Mulgrave Machine Works and East Coast Hydraulics in Mulgrave have been giving excellent service since 1969 and 1984 respectively to offshore and gas exploration companies.
Jack up drilling rigs have been frequent visitors to the Strait of Canso and the Mulgrave wharf.

LOCAL LEADERSHIP -The volunteer board of directors for the Strait of Canso Superport Limited includes representatives from the three levels of government, the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce, shippers and ship service providers. Its mandate is to "promote and accommodate mariner operations in the Strait of Canso for the benefit of the area's economy".
