Bill recalls his school days:

"I went to school at SS #5. It didn't seem to take long to walk to school. It was a mile and a quarter. We didn't think about time at that time. It was a two room school, it was starting to get more modern, it had central heating. You know, sort of shaping up into a more modern type of school.

I went two years to Agincourt Continuation School and then I quit. I wanted to farm anyway and my dad needed help. That was the middle of the depression. There was no incentive to get a job anywhere".

"We raised grain and hay and we had pigs and quite a big orchard. The orchard was quite a thing at one time. It kind of petered out".

"There was always something to do. You had cattle there, a daily thing you had to look after. I did take some time off. Ok maybe I did take a few days off, and went somewhere. But you didn't just think you were getting away from it all".

-Bill Walton
