One of the first tasks that were completed at Fort Point was the restoration of the four remaining 24 pound cannons.

These cannons had to be dug out of the ground, lifted up using scaffolding, winches and various other mechanisms in order to place them properly on the new carriages that were fabricated for them.

The next series of photos depict the process that was used to accomplish this aspect of the project.
