Completing this work at Fort Point has been the fulfillment of a long term objective of the Trinity Historical Society, it being one of its founding ideas in 1964 to have some restoration work completed at the site.

The work was completed during the summer of 2011 with the funding assistance of federal (Department of Canadian Heritage and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) and provincial (Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development) government funding agenices and departments. The work was completed to celebrate two anniversaries in 2012 - the 250th of the occupation of Trinity by the French in 1762 and the 200th of the rebuilding of part of the fort in case of an attack during the War of 1812.

Trinity Historical Society invites you to come and visit Fort Point and learning about our work of preserving, presenting and promoting our heritage.
