Based on a photograph from 1880 the distinctive curved porch roof was added to the building during restoration.

In 1993 the Munshaw House was again up for sale. The developer had spent close to $1 million dollars purchasing and restoring the building and the gas bar (Sun Times Article Feb 6, 1993). The mortgage holder hoped an antiques or arts & crafts store would move in to compliment the Cafe.

Today, the Munshaw House still operates as a hotel however businesses occupy the first floor including the Re/Max Agency and the Munshaw Cafe Restaurant.
