During the first part of the dirty 1930's drought and a serious economic depression caused much poverty. During the latter part of the decade the start of World War II caused great concern. Scenes like this were quite common in the 30's as people from the drought areas in Saskatchewan and Alberta came through looking for work.

The Millet Anglican Church built in 1929 by H.J.S. Parlee, a farmer from the Coal Lake District northeast of Millet. This church is situated on the north side of 51st Avenue (Aberdeen Street). The church was renovated in 1985.

Vic Nordquist built his second garage of brick in 1928 on the northwest corner of 50th Street and 48th Avenue, Lots 1 and 2, Block 3. His first garage (Vic's Garage) on the east side of 50th Street was destroyed by the fire of October 1927.

Leanne's Bar and Grill is located in this building today (2004).

W.S. (Stan) Scott in his Meat Market situated on the east side of Main Street (50th Street) in Block A across from Lot 1 Block 2, on the northeast corner of the intersection of 49th Avenue and 50th Street (1925-1933).
His wife, Pearl (née Gray) was his partner in business (1927-1933). Stan took ill in 1933 and died in 1938.

The Millet Hardware Store, built by Morris and Taylor, on the west side of Main Street in 1915. It was situated halfway down Block 2, approximately where the Associate Clinic now has offices (2004). The business was run by Mr. Eastwood in 1921. It was sold to White and Orr in 1922 and E.J. Olesen was the manager until 1931 when J.E. Shepperd started in business there. He sold to Len Eckel in 1943. In January of 1946, W. Hildebrand bought the business and about 1950 it was purchased by Rheinie Pohl who owned it until the late 1960's. Following R. Pohl's ownership, it became a grocery store. In 1992, it became a daycare centre.
