In the seventies, Millet came to life once more when sub divisions sprang up within Millet's newly expanded boundaries. Millet was on its way to becoming "A Commuter's Paradise". Many old buildings were demolished and new buildings, such as the B&H Block and the Butterfly Boutique, replaced them during the following decade.

John Barth was a barber in Millet for 51 years (1926-1977). On the day of his retirement in 1977 he was presented with a fishing rod. He was an ardent fisherman and hunter.

The Van Meter Building (that had housed the Karr Brothers Store, the Community XL Store, the Oddfellows Hall, and lastly the Red & White Store) just prior to demolition in 1978.
Situated on Lot 10, Block 2, the front part of the store was built in 1902-1903 by Van Meter and Blades.

The Millet Cash Store building a year previous to its demolition in 1978. W.A. Connelly had built the building in 1902. It was located in Block 3, Lots 9 and 10.
The picture was taken from the north side of 49th Avenue looking southeast.
The B&H Block was built at this location shortly afterward. A Grocery Store, T's Liquor Store, Scissors, and a Video Store are located in the block at the present time (2004).

The Cash Store being demolished in 1979. The store was built by W.A. Connelly in 1902.
Ira Grant bought the store in 1904 and added a balcony with supporting pillars on the front of the building.
The store was later owned by Mr. Cohen and by Harry Tussman. Also it was used to house the Mitchell Sales Co.
When it was built, it was Millet's second store. The first was the Van Meter store erected in 1901 on Block 2, Lot 10.
