Communities in Bloom was introduced to Millet in 1996 by Bernice Knight, Millet's "flower lady". Her good work with volunteers eventually resulted in Millet's winning the National Award for Communities in Bloom in 2001. Carol Sadoroszney is currently the chair of Millet in Bloom (2004). Here is the evidence of buildings and business progress in Millet from the 80's to the present.

The Town Administration Building and Millet and District Museum and Exhibit Room and Archives and Tourist Information Centre. The building was opened in 1985.

School Bell Kiosk

The Bell Kiosk was built to house the school bell from the original Millet School, which was located on the east side of the railway tracks.The kiosk was built in 2001 by the Millet Lions Club. The Millet and District Historical Society mounted a mural of an early Millet schoolroom in the interior of the kiosk. Plaques telling the history of the Millet schools were mounted in the interior as well. Communities in Bloom designed and planted the flowerbeds in front of the kiosk. The kiosk is located adjacent to the Town Administration building (2004).

The Burns Creamery Rock Garden, located on the east side of 50th Street, is a replica of the original Burns Creamery Garden that was designed and planted by the Burns Creamery staff in 1937.

The IGA (Independent Grocers Association) grocery store was built in 2000. It is located on the corner of Main Street (50th Street) and 52nd Avenue. It is currently owned by Mike Pyle (2004).
