Henry Crone came in the first wave with Timothy Rogers. Some like the Crones settled in East Gwillimbury just North of Newmarket. This is a Crone family member from the Historical Society's family file.

There was considerable intermarriage of Yonge street families in the early days. Usually only the first borne was entitled to the land when the father died. This was a Rogers.Proctor grandfather.

Here is Silas Armitage on his 99th birthday.
He was a farmer first but after giving it up he was appointed superintendant of the York County home until 1939.
