He lived in Bogartown a small settlement within two miles of Newmarket (it was later absorbed into the town).

MacMillan did not forget his Quaker roots when he became a millionaire building a substantial fence and a roof for the Yonge Street Meeting House.

The Dennis family were farmers and carried on into the 1960's when the farm was sold for a large housing development in the south of Newmarket.

Samuel Lundy, a Quaker, and a friend of Timothy Rogers from Pennsylvania brought 20 families to adjoining lands to the south of Newmarket (now Aurora).
