Information in the Newmarket archives describes W. M. Starr as a baker, confectioner and stationer in his store in Newmarket. He contributed to the economy of Newmarket through his book store and at one time the telephone exchange.

Stephan Howard came with Timothy Rogers to land north east of the Rogers farms near Yonge. Byron Howard shown, a descendant was a prominent lawyer.

The original farm house still exists and stands on North Main St. Newmarket and is called "Sunny Hill Farm"
