Rich Hill #2817

The Rich Hill school was built in 1913 by families in the district on land donated by C.F. Howe. It opened in 1914, and the first teacher was Donald Muir. The school was named after Garfield Thompson's home in North Carolina. The first School Board consisted of Garfield Thompson, N.H. Kolding and Mr. McHale. It closed in 1957 and the children were bussed to Dickson. Henry Samel bought the school from the Rocky Mountain School Division for $250.00.
The sixth country school built in the Caroline Alberta District.
