Crammond School #4289

The first Crammond school was Ivan Graham's homestead shack and was first moved to the site in 1926 where the Crammond Community Center is presently located. The first teacher was Mrs. A. Barby who taught first in the homestead shack and later in the new school that was built in 1926. The shack then became the teacher's residence and remained so until the school was closed. After closing, this became the Crammond Community Center and now sits empty as a new Center has been built.
In 1956 a new four-room school was built a half-mile north. This consolidated the Crammond, James River, Crooked Creek, and Pine View schools. Grades up to grade nine were taught here, and the high school students were bussed to Caroline. Gradually the students in the lower grades were moved to Caroline, when the school closed in 1965. The grounds and building now serve as the Raven Place Mobile Home Park.
Crammond the thirteenth country school built in the Caroline Alberta District.
