Some of the Shepherd Clan inherited Greenwood and others built in close proximity. They inhabited houses all around in the immediate vicinity. So this area of Como became popularly known as Shepherd Village.

Now the Greenwood Centre for Living History, the property was acquired by P.F.C Delesderniers in 1820 as a residence and store. In 1824 his wife Amelia Rice named it Greenwood. In 1841 it became Como's first post office.

Kanesatake, the original Oak Cottage, was built by R.W. Shepherd in 1850. Later in the 19th century it became the home of Dr. Francis J. Shepherd.

Woodside was built by R.W. Shepherd in 1875. Woodside became the home to Mrs. G.R. Robertson, G. Ross Robertson and Barbara Gelinas.

The Mausoleum facing Woodside was built in 1898 by R.W. Shepherd II to preserve the graves of P.F.C and Amelia Delesderniers. The original stones are embedded on the side walls.
