Men get together today in Ashern Coffee Shops to chat about the weather, current events, etc. just as they sat around in the grocery store in the 1930's and 1940's.
One day curing the 1940's local men felt that perhaps Ashern should realise they must be perpared in case the Germans threatened Ashern, so they dressed up as Germans and invaded the Railway Station.
