Crossing Cole Harbour: From Ferry to Dyke then Rail to Trail

Creator(s): Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum

Explore the salt marsh of Cole Harbour, and the stories of those who have lived on and around it. First used by Indigenous peoples, then by European farmers, the marsh has long been a source of both sustenance and consternation. From hunting and fishing, to railways and farming, people have tried for centuries to bend it to their will. Today, as it continues to ebb and flow, the marsh remains the community’s beating heart.
