Imagine a time before Contact when the Haida inhabited all of Haida Gwaii. Imagine all of the treasures that must have surrounded them, objects that showed their crests and family stories.

Imagine a time when people were dying by thousands, and their treasures were being burned, traded, forgotten or stolen. Just as Haida objects left the community, so did songs, stories and names.
