Introduction

The celebrated Quebec sculptor Alfred Laliberté (1878-1953) had a prolific artistic career.  Over the years, he produced a body of work comprising over a thousand sculptures in bronze, marble, wood and plaster, as well as a sizeable number of paintings, which are less well known.

The proposed tour will allow you to view the works in their social and historical context.  Artists are inextricably part of their time and milieu and this cultural baggage influences their work.
