Photo of Tsuki Kanehiro

Tsuki Kanehiro arrived in Canada on 9 April 1913 and married Yoichi Hironaka the next day. Their marriage had been arranged by their parents. Yoichi (Harry) Hironaka had immigrated to Canada in 1907. As part of the marriage arrangements, both Tsuki and Yoichi had photographs taken, which they each sent to the other. Tsuki's photographs, taken in Japan in 1912 or 1913, shows her in a traditional Japanese kimono.
