Despite all these changes, the recreational fishery in Indian Bay is being revitalized. Members of the community and Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation developed a comprehensive management plan to change the recreational fishery in Indian Bay. The length of the fishing season and quotas have been decreased so the fish population and size can increase. The outcome of this change has been very positive, studies have shown that the size and number of fish are slowly increasing. The recreational fishery in Indian Bay may never be the same as it was fifty years ago. But, hopefully this trend will continue so the fish population in Indian Bay will increase and become healthier.
