TRANSCRIPT

Mr. Docker:
Bus was a good man to work for he, he taught me everything I know about boats. And, and how to run them, how to handle barges and everything else, and, how to do the logs out here and what he wanted me to do. His first words to me when he said you're gonna take over doing the mill and stuff, he says, if you get stuck up there and you have to leave the boat up there, he says leave town! (Laughs.)

Interviewer:
Oh, really? That's a bit intimidating.

Mr. Docker:
He says if you have to put her up on blocks leave town. (Laughs.)

Interviewer:
Wow.

Mr. Docker:
Oh, just a big joke, just to keep me from getting myself stuck on the bottom out there when the tide was dropping.

Interviewer:
Oh, yeah.

Mr. Docker:
And then in the end I got the last laugh because he put a dead head through the bottom of the, 'Service IX,' and sank it right out off the terminal dock. He had to run it on the beach to keep it from going right under the water.
