Lady Alice Tilley lived in the house on Germain Street the rest of her life. She continued to involve herself in the community. The Victoria Hospital in Fredericton was built under her patronage and Nurses' Homes connected to hospitals in Saint John and Fredericton were constructed as a result of her interest and active advocacy. During the Boer War and World War I she was active in the Red Cross Society providing a leadership role in preparing supplies for the boys overseas.

She also travelled and entertained. This photograph appears to be in the clock tower of a foreign destination.

Lady Alice Tilley died 25 May 1921 at the age of 76 and was buried with her husband at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John.
