Jack Wiebe, son of Herb Wiebe, former Mayor of Herbert, grandson of John F.D. Wiebe, first Mayor of Herbert, served as Lieutenant Governor of Province of Saskatchewan from May 31, 1994 to February 16, 2000.From April 6, 2000 to January 31, 2004 he served as a Senator in Government of Canada, Ottawa.
He and his wife have retired to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, 30 miles from Herbert. They are still members of the Herbert United Church.
