This trapskiff is in storage and will eventually be displayed in the new 'Fisherman's Museum' in St. John's. Trapskiffs were an essential part of the fishery for the men of Central Bonavista Bay. This, one of the last of Newfoundland's wooden trapskiffs has a glorious future: to remind us of the heyday of trap fishing in Newfoundland & Labrador.

It must have been a rewarding feeling for these boat builders to admire their finished product. One day they were looking for curved timber in the woods and a few weeks later they were admiring their perfectly curved trapskiffs!
