What distinguishes the Newfoundland works of George Campbell Tinning from other trips, making them so worthy of an exhibition, is their scale. These are large-form watercolours, requiring an exceedingly experienced and accomplished hand. It is fortunate that this collection of paintings was kept together by his family which made it possible to borrow enough of them to make an exhibition.
