Ian Mundel's father Donald lived in Pugwash and collected cream for the Creamery along the Gulf Shore Road calling in at Malagash, Fox Harbour and Wallace on Mondays and Thursdays, Conns Mills, Pugwash Junction and Pugwash River on Tuesdays and along the Route 6 on Wednesdays. Ian recalled as a small boy going on the train to Tatamagouche, where on occasions he saw J.J. Creighton look furtively around to make sure no one was watching and then swipe a finger of butter and eat it! He would then do the same for Ian!

Aged 59 Donald went to work in the feed store in Pugwash which was also owned by J.J. Creighton. Henry Furguson took over the driving of the cream trucks. In 1971 the feed store closed so Donald went into the fuel business.
