The villiage of Troy is established in 1810. Through the middleof it runs Fairchild creek, named for the surveyor Henry Fairchild (or, according to a book from the Women's Institute, the explorer LaSalle). Fairchild creek was used to power sawmills by the settlers.

In 1832 Conrad Misener bought Lot 10 concession 3, Beverly Township, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada from Francis Willian DesRivieres for 100 pounds. Lot 10 had virgin pine forest, as well as hard woods. Conrad ran a sawmill on the property.

By the first World War a new brick house has been built on lot 10 and Conrad Misener's house has fallen into disuse.

Conrad Misener's home is donated to Westfield Heritage Villiage by Myrtle Scroggie, great granddaughter of Conrad Misener. Lot 10 concession 3 has been in the family for over 120 years.
