The Misener house was built in 1832 on the property of Concession 3, lot 10 of Beverly Township, Welland County, Ontario Canada. It was bought by Conrad Misener in 1833, and lived in by his family and his decendants until close to the 1950s. Once the family built a new brick house on the property, however, it fell slowly into disuse. By the 1960s, Conrad Misener's home was in disrepair.

In 1900, the farm house was still used by the family. It is, however, nearly 70 years old, and the siding looks in need of repairs. One can see how close the Misener barn stood to the house.

By 1961, the house was in such disrepair that the frames are warped and bowed, the siding falling off. At that time Myrtle Scroggie, Arthur Misener's daughter, donates the building to Westfield Pioneer Village which is just then being established a few miles to the north. The founders of Westfield, Glenn Kilmer and Goldie MacDonell, accept the donation and begin to make plans to bring the building to the site and refurbish it.

The fifth image, of the pantry side of the house, reveals just how badly the siding needs repair.
