Between 1876 and 1992, three generations of the Hillary family lived at The Manor. Dr. Robert William Hillary moved his wife Annie and their eight children to The Manor in 1876. Later his son, Dr. Robert Michael Hillary and his wife Edith filled this household with nine children of their own. It was the children of Robert Michael and Edith Hillary that were born and raised in the home.

With this, The Manor became a generational home for the family and that is why it is now known as 'Hillary House'.
