Services in the name of the "United Church" began on July 8, 1920, with Rev. Joseph Savage of Brandon as speaker. It is interesting to note that union of Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Cartwright pre-dated the general cross-Canada Union by five years. The services were held in the Methodist church, it being the larger of the two and the most suitable building.
