In 1915 the C.N.R. constructed its North Bay station on Second Avenue.

This station served as a passenger depot for the C.N.R. and T.& N.O. until the early 1990's.

The next 15 years would prove to be very profitable for the railways and the community itself. With three large railways having a large presence in the community as well as their regional offices; the importance of the industry in the community could not be disputed.
