In the 1990s, Calgary had a combined record of 49-32-3 with three more Hardy Cups (the previous two times in which Calgary won the Hardy Cup was in 1992 and 1993), and also a Vanier Cup victory. In the 1995 season, Calgary captured their ninth Hardy Cup in history when they defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies in overtime 32-30. With that win, in the Hardy Cup, Calgary advanced to the Churchill Bowl, where they played the Ottawa Gee Gee's and defeated Ottawa by the score of 37-7. With that win, Calgary returned to the Vanier Cup in which they played the Western Mustangs. In the national championship game, Calgary won their fourth Vanier Cup in school history by defeating Western by the score of 54-24. Also during that season, Don Blair won the Hec Crighton award for being the most outstanding player in Canada. This was the second time in which a player from Calgary won that award.
