Anglican Church. The present stone church was built in 1898 and consecrated on October 30th of that year. The church was burned in November, 1909, destroying all records and a new organ, but the stone walls remained standing.

Anglican Church Ladies. The interior of the Anglican church was rebuilt and the first service held August, 1910. Originally in the Diocese of Rupersland, the parish was included in the Diocese of Brandon when it was reformed.

Cartwright Methodist Church 1900. The first Methodist Church was a frame building, built around 1887 - 1888, on the site of the present United Church. This building was used until 1899, at which time it was moved to make way for the new brick building.

From 1915 and onwards, the Pentecostal Church,known at the turn of the century as the Pentecostal Movement, gained a wide following in the community. Later on, these services were conducted in a large room in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Cantlon - a quarter of a mile north of the School.

The early pioneers of Cartwright recognized the need for establishing a Christian church. The first student minister assigned to the Cartwright area was Hugh Fraser. He was followed in 1885 by C. W. Gordon, who later was known by his pen-name, Ralph Connor, the author of "Glengarry School Days". "Sky Pilot", and other novels. Dr. Gordon wrote of his Cartwright area experience in the Knox College Monthly of Feb., 1886.

The United Church sunday school classes were held in the home of Mrs. Alexander Thomson, Senior. Organized classes soon followed the building of the churches.

Christ church sunday school classes began in the early 1900's, the rectors also served parishes at Neelin and Homfield, and for a few years at Lake Lorne, West Derby and East Mountain.
