INDIA NIGHT

On April 10, 1990, Glenda MacSween, a native of India gave a wonderful presentation of the culture and traditions of India. Entitled, "India Night" the lecture was held in at the Whitney Pier Historical Museum.

ALONG CAME H.M. WHITNEY

One of the earliest events organized by the museum was the 1989 Public Lecture Series. Historian Don MacGillivary's lecture "Along came H. M. Whitney" examined Henry Melville Whitney's role in founding the Dominion Iron & Steel company (DISCO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The lecture was held at the Whitney Pier Museum on January 30, 1989. Seen here is Gail Strasser, Professor Don MacGillivary, and Elizabeth Beaton.
